Cartier celebrates the beauty of nature through its exceptional jewellery craftsmanship at Homo Faber 2024.

Homo Faber 2024: The Journey of Life unfolds in Venice from 1 to 30 September, 2024, marking the third edition of this biennial celebration of contemporary craftsmanship. Organised by the Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship - a Swiss-based non-profit dedicated to supporting artisans worldwide - this event champions a more human, inclusive, and sustainable future.
Hosted at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini on Venice's San Giorgio Maggiore island, the Homo Faber Biennial aims to preserve and promote the art of contemporary craftsmanship. For this edition, titled &lsquo;The Journey of Life,&rsquo; renowned film director Luca Guadagnino and architect Nicol&ograve; Rosmarini have been entrusted with the artistic direction. They&rsquo;ve crafted a ten-stage journey, each reflecting key moments in life. Within the historic former printing works of San Giorgio Maggiore, Cartier takes centre stage with an exhibit dedicated to nature, highlighting the uniqueness of its flora and fauna designs. Visitors can witness live demonstrations by a sculptor and jeweller as they bring to life a new jewellery piece inspired by the tiger, a signature motif of Cartier alongside the panther. Furthermore, the exhibition also guides visitors through the creative process, from initial sketches to the final stages of gem-setting and polishing. Complementing the live demonstrations, twenty one pieces from the Cartier Collection will be on display.
Also, Homo Faber in Citt&agrave; invites visitors to further immerse themselves in Venetian craftsmanship through themed tours and customised experiences. Supported by Cartier, the event&rsquo;s sponsor, this city-wide exploration allows participants to visit over 70 workshops and provides a unique insight into the creative processes, tools, materials, and techniques that local artisans use to bring modern objects to life.
