This dedication to the &ldquo;Five Rare Crafts&rdquo; &mdash; Home Grown Barley, Cooperage, Malting Floor, Copper Stills, and Malt Master &mdash; finds its ultimate expression in The Balvenie 30 Year Old, a single malt that captures the essence of these artisanal practices.
Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE, an industry icon with over six decades of expertise, hand-selects only the finest casks, each maturing for 30 years in American and European Oak. The result is an exquisitely layered whisky, with profound sweetness, rich dark chocolate undertones, and subtle hints of spice.
More than just a masterpiece, The Balvenie 30 Year Old embodies a living tradition, bridging generations of makers. Kelsey McKechnie, The Balvenie&rsquo;s current Malt Master, has refined her craft under Stewart&rsquo;s guidance, ensuring this precious heritage thrives for years to come.

Embodying the timeless power of human creativity, this philosophy finds a strong advocate in The Balvenie Maker's Project. This global initiative celebrates the artistry of makers from various creative fields, underscoring the essential role of human touch in craftsmanship.
"At The Balvenie, we believe that the maker is just as important as the product," says Jyri Pylkk&auml;nen, the Regional Malts Brand Ambassador for Southeast Asia. "Our Makers Project honours this philosophy by celebrating the uniquely human elements that transform something great into something truly exceptional. Together with The Balvenie Thirty, we continue our mission to inspire a new generation of artisans to embrace tradition, innovation, and the art of handcraft."
In Malaysia, The Balvenie partners with acclaimed designer Edward Tan, whose work has graced top brands across continents. Tan&rsquo;s stunning copper sculpture, crafted in an intricate 30-layer design, beautifully mirrors the dedication, patience, and passion that unite the worlds of whisky-making and art.
"Every masterpiece starts with a single idea. An idea that evolves, shifts, and takes shape, much like the journey of crafting a fine single malt whisky," Tan reflects. "For The Balvenie, I wanted to capture their legacy of craftsmanship&mdash;a process that requires time, patience, and passion. My piece honours their iconic copper stills, which I incorporated into the design using copper as the primary material. The 30 layers of the sculpture represent the depth and complexity of The Balvenie Thirty&mdash;a nod to the artistry that goes into every cask."

At the exquisite dinner which was curated by Chef Steve of Sabayon, the unique art piece by Tan titled &ldquo;Convergence&rdquo; was unveiled. Crafted using an original oak cask as its canvas, the piece was inspired by The Balvenie&rsquo;s dedication to craftsmanship, blending tradition with innovation. The piece was later auctioned for an impressive RM38,000, with all proceeds generously donated to THE ROJAK PROJEK, a social enterprise championing unity, culture, and diversity through positive understanding and awareness.

The evening's sensory journey began with an exclusive tasting of The Balvenie Thirty, setting the stage for a seamless pairing of exquisite cuisine and Single Malt whisky. Each course revealed unique layers of flavour, bringing to life the rounded vanilla, sweet oak, and fruity nuances of The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14; the velvety sweetness and lively character of the French Oak Cask 16-Year; and the smooth honeyed notes, creamy fruit, and warm spice of The Balvenie 21 Portwood Cask.
